Kitchen cabinet design specialists from RTA Cabinet Supply LLC analyzed changes in homeowner preferences from 2010 to 2020. The data below is based on a market research and our internal sales data. We analyzed consumer choices in cabinet colors, construction types, and door styles.
Cabinet Colors
White color remains the most popular choice. Grey has gained a lot of popularity in the last decade. Semi transparent colors from light coffee and chocolate color families are falling out of favor. We expect to see more grey and blue cabinets in the nearest future.
Construction Type
The traditional face frame American construction type remains the most popular choice. However, it is slowly losing ground to the frameless construction. Homeowners, builders, and landlords are paying more attention to the frameless cabinet advantages.
Door Styles
Raised panel style is losing popularity while shaker style is still in a strong demand. Slab doors have gained popularity, it can be attributed to the frameless construction cabinet sales growth. Slab door style is especially common on frameless construction cabinet lines.
